If you’ve ever been to Seattle, or just heard of it, then you probably know that it’s often dubbed as the Rain City. Holding true to it’s name, Seattle experiences rain in all four seasons, and more often than not in three of the four. However, as gloomy as it may sound, there is hope under the umbrella. For those who don’t know, Seattle is a city of great diversity and cultural experiences. For example, every Spring, there is an international film festival, where people gather to experience culture through the art of video. In addition, when comes Summer, Seattle hosts what is called a ‘Summer Festival,’ where the night markets resemble those that are often found in Asia, which is a nice change once in awhile in such a developed nation. Furthermore, every spring also, there is a festival called Folk Life that takes place in Seattle. It’s a festival of culture through appreciation of music and food. So, as far as the nickname of Rain City, Seattle’s not that boring of a place, so come, check it out!
Seattle, locally known as the Rain City, is one of the Pacific Northwest’s most beautiful places. With the iconic landmark, the Space Needle, at its center, Seattle is Washington State’s largest and most visited city. In addition, the many unique places it has to offer is almost exclusive to the Pacific Northwest. From the great peaks of Mount Everest to the great depths of the Pacific Ocean, there is no other place like the Rain City. If you are an adventurer, a mountain-fanatic, or just love the the waters, you will definitely love Seattle. Mount Everest boasts a height of 29,029 ft, the tallest mountain in the world. Venerable mountain-climbers from all over the world have attempted to conquer these mountains, but to date, only but a handful of people have made it to the top. Nonetheless, the mountain ranges are not the only attractions that Seattle has to offer. Its beautiful lakes are unrivalled in the Northwest. In addition, the various districts and sub-cities located in Seattle make it one of the most culturally rich and diverse cities in the world. From the University District to Columbia City each place has its own uniqueness and interesting aspects. The University District is one of Seattle’s most prideful places. With the University of Washington located at its heart, the U-district boasts a great demographic of college students, and of course, any place with college students means…(take a guess). Columbia City is one of Seattle’s most famous landmarks. With unique cuisines such as fire-roasted pizzas and freshly-baked breads, it offers a good time as well as a unique experience.
